A Great Flyer in Light Conditions

Just to say thanks again for providing these instructions.

I made the roller kite - as well as a mini diamond, 2-skewer dopero and 1 skewer delta! I really enjoyed flying this in the park with my daughter who's 4 1/2.

I was very careful throughout the build to make it exactly to plan and the result was a very easy to fly kite that was stable and a great climber in light winds. Having flown the kite into the ground a couple of times it was surprisingly strong too.

I did make a couple of variations to the design. Firstly by adding a couple of 14cm skewers to the back of the horizontal skewers to help maintain the dihedral angle. By over tightening the sail tether lines on my dopero and through rough handling by my wife I'd managed to flatten out the dihedral and had to make repairs!

Even though it's made out of green garden sacks it's also a very pretty kite.

I'm looking forward to taking some materials and instructions with me on holiday with my family and build more kites with my nieces and nephews.

Many thanks,

Russell
