RC Kite

Q:

Where in the UK can I buy a reasonable priced RC kite. I got a GoFly kite but crashed it. Far too expensive. Thanks.

A:

There doesn't seem to be much online, for example at the UK eBay and Amazon sites. The main Amazon site in the US does have a range of RC kites - but they are fairly pricey too! A decent RC kite that flies well is a precision piece of gear, and of course radio gear that has a decent range is not cheap either.

Anything really cheap could be a disappointment in the air - there used to be some cheap knock-offs around, but people didn't have great things to say about them!

If I were you, I would check out a few online RC flying forums and check with people there. Someone might even want to pass on some second hand gear for a reasonable price.

Try some UK forums (you'll have to create an account or register in order to post a query) ... There's modelflying.co.uk and rctalk.co.uk for a start.

Don't give up - pester these guys for some info! Somebody there is bound to know a heck of a lot more about RC kites in the UK than I do ;-)
