New to kites, question on choosing a kite

Q: I am taking my family to Gulf Shore Alabama the first week of June and I would like to get myself and my son kites to fly in the beach.

I am 54 and my son is 9.

Do you have any suggestions on what we should look for when picking out a kite and is there a kite style that would be best to start with.
Thank You in advance for any thoughts that you share.

A: You could try a small Para-sled for your boy and a mid-sized Delta kite for yourself. Both easy to setup and fly.

So, check out the info under Sled Kite and Delta Kite at the following page...

There is a photo of each kite type on that page.

Happy flying down at the beach!

Kite flying on the beach
by: Tony Sangster

I agree with Tim on his recommendations to you.
Might I suggest you and your son fly where people on the beach would not be inconvenienced by your kite flying and consider taking a cheap shopping bag or similar article to use as a sand anchor. Best Wishes for a fun time!
